Giannattasio on Opportunity to Design Powerful Tools

We’re delighted to announce that Alain Giannattasio has joined Dorigny Group. Here’s what he has to say…

Looking back, I ask myself what was really interesting and what was fun during all my years in project management and team lead positions? The answer is crystal clear. It was getting all those teams to collaborate and helping them to progress and be successful, as teams as well as individual players!

And what was frustrating or even exasperating at times? Witnessing project failures resulting from a lack of discussion, ineffective information exchange or high misalignment. These failures happened regardless of industry or domain – from car competitions to Enterprise Architecture engagements and from major IT projects to change management missions. They happened even if almost all the time these projects were run with very honest, involved and objective stakeholders.

So, given my experience, the appeal of a group of researchers creating new ways to manage by conversation was very strong. The opportunity to design powerful methods and tools was too attractive to pass up. It’s time for me to join them on this new mission and new positioning. Together, we get to support any group of individuals who want to achieve success and feel accomplished and graceful in that journey.

Avdiji on Fusing Social, Cognitive, Linguistic Research for Better Team Collaboration

The Research Center on Social Interactions (CRIS) at the University of Neuchâtel, Switzerland, is hosting a Doctoral Consortium on the role of technology in social interactions as part of its doctoral program. The Consortium takes place on October 21st, 216 at the Faculty of Law.

Ph. D student at the University of Lausanne and Dorigny researcher, Hazbi Avdiji is presenting work on the subject of collaboration to date as well as our cooperative tools, the Team Alignment Map and Coopilot app.

Describing his Ph.D research focus, Hazbi explains that his goal is to help build prescriptive knowledge on how to make the modern professional environment a more inspiring, humane, and trustworthy place.

“I’m fascinated by the challenge of fusing social, cognitive, and linguistic research to create new ways for team collaboration.”

Most research in management, human resources, and business engineering seeks to find the best parameters that can make the workforce perform better. However, Hazbi’s research is more inscribed in the recent (or reemerging) trend to treat employees as trustworthy and free individuals, who can self-manage themselves more effectively than were they commanded and controlled by traditional management.

Organized by Professor Adrian Bangerter at the Institute of Psychology of Work and Organisations at the University of Neuchâtel, Hazbi presents alongside:

  • Dr. E. M. Canadas Espinosa, Department of Organizational Behaviour, University of Lausanne (HEC), Switzerland
  • Prof. S. Gobron, Faculty of Engineering, HE-Arc, HES.SO, Neuchâtel, Switzerland
  • Mme C. Bortolon, Epsylon Laboratory at Paul Valéry University and Interdisciplinary Research Unit for Adult Psychiatry at University Hospital, Montpellier, France
  • Prof. O. Grynszpan, Institute of Intelligent Systems & Robotics, Pierre & Marie Curie University, Paris, France

For more information on the conference, please contact please contact Sylvia Gonzalez at CRIS, University of Neuchâtel, Switzerland.
